reviews...

Nine Inch Nails "With Teeth". A HUGE disappointment. Trent Reznor has apparently lost all sense of melody. and he's lost his sonic creativity too. All I hear are heavy drums and raging guitars. where are all the atmospherics? the synths? the hooks? sad sad sad. I've waited so long for new NIN material. and this is just such an anti-climax.

Bruce Springsteen- Devils and Dust. He's on great form here. He manages to sound raw yet everything is nicely polished. Of course, this is no "Nebraska", but Springsteen manages again to tell forlorn stories from the south. In "Reno", he turns a song about what would otherwise be dismissed as a song about fucking a prostitute by half-wits, into a despairing wail about lust, tragedy and heartbreak simply by leaving us reflecting on a twist in the final line of the song. such is the genius of the man.
